Mr. Glenn Lewis

This communication is regarding one of your employees R.K. Owen. I've known R.K. for about a year now, and in that time have been the benefactor of his prompt and courteous attention to a few of the many problems we solve here in the Aerodynamics division.

On one occasion he was of great help translating Fortran programs to the C language allowing us the opportunity to continue efforts while waiting for our Fortran compilers to arrive. This helped us to maintain our developmental momentum on the programs so badly needed at the time. Later, when a critical Fortran program used for rotational systems analysis needed converting to the HP-UX platform RK provided needed counsel on some of the sticky road blocks that stood in the way of our effectively compiling the program for maximum efficiency. At another time, when the SLATEC library's FFT seemed to have faulty output RK's insight into what kind of data might given rise to such odd output helped us to find a crucial bug in the program. His quick response to getting another FFT up and running on the same data verified the phenomenon discussed and was very helpful in calibrating the program we standardly run. Yet another time, when another work associate of mine worked on the same project porting code the UNICOS "batch" environment, RK's skills with both the math library environment as well as the shell environment proved most helpful.

In short, I just wanted to briefly give credit where credit is due. RK has been in every way what I would call the epitome of a good "support service", and has given us excellent advice and counsel when and where we needed it. I gladly commend RK as one worthy of regard in "user support services".
